At 9:00 I went to go eat breakfast at the hotel and their breakfast was amazing. At 10:00 I took a rickshaw to go to the Ganga River. The Ganga River is known as the holy river of the hindu religion. Indians believe that if you take a bath or even dip any part of your body in this river, all your sins or bad things you did are forgiven. The length of this river is 1,560 miles and is relatively short compared to the other rivers in the world. So, I was super excited to swim in this river because all my sins would wash away. I had bought an extra pair of clothes because I didn’t want to stay in the wet clothes. At 4:00 I headed back to my hotel and was all ready to leave India and go back to America. It was just a lazy day in Delhi and the swimming was awesome and I got some exercise done by swimming. So basically I just relaxed the whole day and did stuff here and there. I hung outside of my hotel because the view is really nice and great to take pictures. So, I had a mini photoshoot there because I had to take some memories home with me. At 4:00 I was getting hungry so I just ate snacks and chips. At 4:30 I headed back home and packed all my things to go to Uttar Pradesh. I wanted to spend my last day in Uttar Pradesh. This is temple is built out of pure marble and surrounding it is nine pools of water. I took a taxi to go to the Lotus Temple. I reached there 1:00 and when I walked in the temple I was totally mesmerised by its beauty. It was filled with bunch of benches in the inside and the architecture of the temple was outstanding. This place is the most visited place in Delhi and one of the most visited places in the world. Also, at night the color of the petals change. I also had packed some snacks along with me just incase I got hungry or so. So basically eating the snacks I had, was my lunch. At 5:00 I started heading home and got home around 6:00. This hotel is recognized as the top five star luxury hotels. As soon as I walked in the hotel at 12:30, the staff was really nice and friendly. The rooms were big and spacious and the their food was excellent. They also had a lot of restaurants to choose from. After I had unpacked my stuff and put them into their appropriate places I decided to take a nap because I was really tired. I didn’t get enough sleep from the night before. I went to go take a nap at 1:30 and woke up at 3:00. I woke up and went to the bathroom to wash my face. Then I went out to eat the street food in Delhi. I went at a local pani puri stand in Delhi. A pani-puri is like a fried crisp puri with spicy filling inside of it and it was really good. I got back to my hotel at 3:30 and decided to go do some shopping. So I went to the Khan Market in Delhi by taking a rickshaw. I bought a lot of clothes and jewelry from that mall. They had a lot of branded clothes there and you can get them tailored there. I got home from the market at 7:00 which is really late because I also went to shop at other places as well. When I got home I was already really tired because of all the shopping so, I just ordered some pizza from a pizza place called Sbarro. At 8:00 I went to bed because I was really tired and I had to be fresh for the next morning to go visit the Lotus Temple.
DAY 2: I woke up this morning at 10:00 and went in the bathroom to get fresh. I was wanting to wash my hair that day so it took me a little longer in the bathroom. I came out of the bathroom at 10:45 and went downstairs to go eat breakfast. I ate the food that they had and I wanted to eat something that was lightweight and not that oily. I went back upstairs at 11:15 and got ready to go visit the Gateway of India. Since, I was already in Mumbai I thought that why not visit the Gateway of India. This is one of India’s most unique landmarks that was constructed in the year 1924. This landmark was built to symbolize the visit of King George V and Queen Mary. The Gateway of India is also a colonial symbol. I went to the gateway of India by hiring a taxi. I reached there at around 12:00. The Gateway of India was marvelous and the surroundings is really clean. The architecture was amazing and it is a safe place for children too. Overall the experience was great and fun. Then after a while I went on a rickshaw to go eat at a near by restaurant. I went to a restaurant called Bade Miyan. There food was good and the best place to try street food. At 4:00 I headed home from visiting the Gateway of India. I got home at 5:00 and decided to relax at the pool of the hotel. So I changed into my bathing suit and went swimming downstairs. I swam for 1 and a half hour and went back to my hotel at 6:00. I just decided to eat dinner at my hotel because I didn’t feel like going somewhere else. So I ate the food that they had there and headed back to my room. I decided to go to Delhi tomorrow to go see the Lotus temple. I decided to go from the flight Indigo nonstop. It is going to take 1 hour and 55 minutes from an airplane to go to delhi. I went to bed at 10:00.
I am going to use Air India to travel from America to India. I want my first stop to be Mumbai. It will take 19 hours 40 minutes plus to reach Mumbai. I am going to be using O’Hare airport and the departure is at 3:30 pm and the arrival is at 11:10 am. I am going to be staying at the Hotel Sahara Star Mumbai. This hotel includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. This trip was a little boring on the airplane but it was totally worth it at the end. As soon as I got to the hotel by a taxi or a cab I went straight to bed. I was already full from the airplane and didn't feel like eating anything. I am going to be on this trip from Monday - Sunday.
This morning when I woke up at 10:00 I was really tired and exhausted from the flight. This day I just decided to take it easy and go somewhere relaxing. I went in the bathroom at 10:10 to get fresh and took a shower. I came out at 10:30 and started organizing my stuff into its appropriate places. At 11:00 I went down to the hotel to get breakfast and ate milk and cereal. At 11:30 I went back upstairs and decided to go to the Victoria Garden and I went there by taking a rikshaw. The garden is 13. 3 kilometers from my hotel. It took 45 minutes to an hour to reach there. I got there at 12:30 because of Mumbai traffic and the garden was so beautiful and had so much greenery. This garden is almost like a zoo and and had many beautiful plants. There were elephants and other zoo animals as well in their cages. This felt like a more relaxing experience than most of the regular zoos. It was so calm and is designed especially for kids. This is one of the oldest gardens/zoo in India and has colonial past monuments. The bad side to the zoo was that the animals weren’t that well maintained and some of the cages were empty and had not animals in it. I also feel that the zoo needs a makeover and they need to improve their maintenance. I also had bought snacks along with me that I ate at the zoo as my lunch at the picnic table. At 6:00 I got out of the zoo and had to catch a rikshaw. At 7:00, I reached my hotel and was really tired. My feet were hurting really bad and I just needed a nice, long, warm and relaxing bath. So, at 7:15 through 7:45 I was enjoying my nice, warm bath. At 7:30, I had ordered pizza for dinner from Joey’s Pizza and they delivered it to me. The pizza was good and at 8:00 I went to bed because I was again really tired.
